What We Do
At AAWEAR, we engage, educate, empower, and advocate for the rights of Albertans who use/d drugs. We offer lower-barrier access to resources, services and community spaces to improve the lives of people with lived or living experience of criminalized substance use.

Resources

Community Engagement
We operate in four Chapter cities: Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge and Red Deer. Our teams of volunteers and staff engage with the community to support under-served neighbours through partnerships, free educational resources, and fun advocacy events. Join our bi-monhtly Chapter meetings and monthly Community Days to learn more about our activities.
Mobile Drug Checking
AAWEAR’s mobile drug checking service is Alberta’s first federally funded mobile drug checking program designed to use existing technology to check drug compositions and provide real time results. The mobile service lowers barriers to accessible harm reduction education and wrap around support provided by experienced peer support workers and systems navigators.
