BOARD OF dIRECTORS

Our Board of Directors are responsible for governance and promote the organisational mission, vision and values to benefit our members.

Major Duties of Directors

Hire, support and evaluate the Executive Director.
Approve the annual operating budget, and review and approve the annual and audited financial statements.
Represent a Chapter and bring the Chapter perspective.
Assist AAWEAR with fundraising activities as required.
Define the vision, mission, values, and other foundational principles.
Govern AAWEAR through broad policies.
Participate in reviews of AAWEAR’s programs and services.
Fulfill the legal reporting requirements of a Board.

I am a:

Member: a person who uses or used to use illegal drugs who is 16 years of age or older. Members may speak and use their 1 vote at any annual or special general meeting. They can also serve as a voting member on the AAWEAR Board of Directors.

Associate Member: a person 18 years or older who does not or has not used hard drugs, is a professional in the field of harm reduction, or is a person who has connection to the life and/or the cause of harm reduction. Associate Members may speak at any meeting, may serve as a voting member on the board of directors, and do not have a vote at an annual general meeting or special meeting.

On the date indicated above, I became a member of AAWEAR. As a Member or Associate Member of AAWEAR, I agree to comply with the rules and bylaws of AAWEAR. I acknowledge that the membership is $0.00 (dues are non-refundable) and the membership period is from the date of one annual general meeting to the next. To vote, I must have been a member for at least 30 days prior to the date of the meeting.
